Summary[]

Larson hires Collins, a hitman also known as the Butcher, to murder Arthur before he reaches New York.

Synopsis[]

A man enters a confession booth and starts telling a story. The episode periodically shifts between him telling the story and the story itself. He enters a barbershop and kills the barber inside, slowly letting him bleed to death. The man says he has a short temper, and explains that he’s best left alone to do “what [he’s] good at”. While he carries a gun, they are noisy and he prefers a piano wire as a weapon. He also wants to ensure his killings are painful.

Larson speaks up on the other side of the book and hires the man to murder Arthur. Arthur has gotten on a train in Albany; Larson instructs him to get on at Peekskill at 6 and kill Arthur before the train reaches New York. He advises that the body should not be found.

Larson asks the man, revealed as Mr. Collins, was previously known as the Butcher. Collins confirms, and Larson tells him to make the murder painful.

  • Collins is also present in Harlan's Call of Cthulhu games (the Witches' Mark). In the game, his first name is Dennis.
